Celebrating the life of

Lois C. Cunningham

January 23, 1939 - January 03, 2025

Lois C. Cunningham

Lois C. Cunningham, 85, passed away peacefully on January 3, 2025, in Jacksonville, Florida. Originally from Edwardsville, Illinois, Lois lived a life filled with love, dedication, and unwavering support for her family.

A devoted military spouse, Lois stood steadfastly by the side of her beloved husband, James Cunningham, for 67 beautiful years. Together, they built a family filled with love and laughter, raising three children: Debra (David) Kelly, Tammy (David) King, and Jeffrey (Lydia) Cunningham. She was the proud grandmother of six grandchildren and cherished great-grandmother to six great-grandchildren.

Lois devoted much of her life to being a stay-at-home mother and grandmother, ensuring her family was surrounded by care, comfort, and love. Later in life, she extended her compassion and nurturing spirit to others through her work in several nursing homes.

Lois found her greatest joy in spending time with her family, creating memories that will be treasured for generations. Her warm smile, gentle heart, and steadfast love will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.

A graveside service for Lois’s life will be held on Tuesday, January 14th, at 1:00 PM at Beaufort National Cemetery in Beaufort, South Carolina.

She will be deeply missed but lovingly remembered by all whose lives she touched.

A candle has been lit!

My parents were married for 57 years, not 67 years

- Debra Kelly, Suffolk, Virginis

I’m so sorry for your loss. Lois was a great friend. When she live in Virginia we worked together that is how we met. We have been friends along time. I really loved her and we would have so much fun. She watched my kids grow up.
